A NEW project to help people living with cancer has seen a Macmillan Recovery Package Project team working at York Hospital.
Macmillan Cancer Support has invested £260,000 to fund the project for three years to roll out a series of key interventions which, when delivered together, can greatly improve outcomes for people living with and beyond cancer.
The Recovery Package is made up of a holistic needs assessment, treatment summary, a cancer care review and a health and wellbeing event which offers education and support for every patient. It will provide rounded care, through a better coordinated approach between everyone involved.
