ELECTRICITY engineers from Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have gone to Ireland to help restore power after Storm Ophelia Ophelia hit the power network.
Electricity distributor Northern Powergrid has sent a team of 16 linesmen and engineers under NEWSAC - the energy industry's mutual aid agreement.
The team is going first to Port Laoise for briefings before heading out to the worst affected communities. The 16 Northern Powergrid workers are part of 100 sent to help from other UK and Isle of Man electricity distribution companies.
