IT is one of York's most eye-catching and controversial buildings, but within a few months its transformation could be complete.
Stonebow House has been undergoing a makeover since spring this year, and on Saturday would-be buyers got their first chance to see the new homes being created in the 1960s building.
The former office block is being converted into 17 new apartments due to be ready by April - with top floor penthouses boasting unparalleled views of York Minster.
Although it's still a building site at present, estate agents Carter Jonas said they had a steady stream of interested buyers with appointments to see the luxury apartments. Prices from £295,000 for a first floor one-bed, to £1,075,000 for a three-bed penthouse with Minster views.
Carter Jonas's Anne Haggas said much of the interest came from owner-occupiers rather than investors - with many people after a "change of lifestyle" and a city centre home.
