POST Office Ltd is continuing efforts to restore post office services to Clifton, local councillors have said.
Clifton ward councillors Margaret Wells and Danny Myers spoke after meeting with Mark Gibson, head of public affairs at the postal company.
They were concerned about the lack of counter postal service provisions following the closure of Crichton Avenue Post Office nine months ago.
Cllr Wells said: “This impacts heavily upon residents and other businesses in Clifton, so we’re pleased to hear a replacement could potentially be on the horizon.”
Cllr Myers said: “It is encouraging that Post Office Ltd are in talks with a potential operator and we will do all we can to make sure these talks end positively with a new branch post office in Clifton”.
