YOUNGSTERS are risking injury by playing on the disused section of the Nestle factory off Wigginton Road, York.

York Police are urging parents to put a stop to the dangerous activity and to make sure they know where their children are.

A police spokesman said: β€œThe area is currently fenced off and the doors have been boarded up to stop people going onto the site, however children are ignoring these and entering the building putting themselves and officers at risk of injury.

β€œ If you are aware or believe your child to be going onto the site we ask that you speak with them about the dangers.”

Police urge anyone who knows who the children are to contact them on Andrew.smith5520@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or mark.jackson5458@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk and quote incident number 12170172177.

They are also willing to talk to children whose parents want extra support in getting the safety message across.
