HUNDREDS of people sampled ales and ciders at the 2017 York Beer and Cider Festival.
The four-day event started on Wednesday at York Racecourse, where one of the longest bars in Europe has been set up in a marquee.
A total of 530 beers and 100 ciders are on offer, including 300 from breweries around Yorkshire, as well as foreign beers, perries, bottled beers, world wines, British meads and Prosecco.
Yesterday also saw the appearance of Roger Protz, who has edited every edition of the Campaign for Real Ale’s Good Beer Guide since 2000.
Mr Protz was signing copies of his new book, IPA - A Legend In Our Time, and also gave a talk on the main stage.
The event runs from noon until 11pm today and ends tomorrow.
