A DOG owner must pay £120 for not keeping the details on his dog’s microchip up to date.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council prosecuted Adrian Walker, 58 of Elma Avenue, Bridlington, after his dog was taken to their kennels and dog wardens found the microchip was out of date.
He pleaded guilty before Beverley Magistrates’ Court and was fined £40 with £50 prosecution costs and a £30 statutory surcharge.
A council spokesman said outside court it cost £16 to change microchip details. Dog wardens told Walker his needed updating when he collected his dog, and several times afterwards. But he failed to update the microchip.
