IT is nice to know that Mary Kendall (Letters, September 9) was fascinated to find the EU accounts online for all to read, but can one believe what you read?
The European Court of Auditors, to whom she refers, obviously do not give much attention to “the legality and regularity of the transactions underlying them”.
Is Mary Kendall not aware that for over 20 years the audited accounts of the EU have never been signed off.
If this was a large company in the UK, the Inland Revenue would be investigating the accounts for evidence of financial irregularities or fraud.
It would appear that the Remoaners are not aware of this or they do not mind.
An even better reason for coming out.
