A blue plaque memorial to Free French fighter pilot Yves Mahé, and the role be played in saving York from Second World War bombers.
YORK'S blue plaques and the stories they tell will be the subject of a talk given at St Lawrence's Community Hall next week.
Buff Reid, the blue plaques organiser at York Civic Trust, will give a talk on "York's History in a Hundred Plaques" at a Friends of St Lawrence Parish Church event on Friday, September 15 at 7.30pm.
The talk will last around an hour, with tea and cakes afterwards. The event is open to all and donation of £2 per person towards running costs is invited.
