A CROWD of 6,500 girls and young women from across Girlguiding North East England are looking forward to a weekend of adventure and adrenalin at the inaugural Flamingo Fling.
Flamingo Fling, organised by Girlguiding North East England will be an action packed adventure camp weekend and will take place at Flamingo Land near Malton in North Yorkshire on September 16 and 17
Led by outdoor activities adviser Rachel Lamond and a team of dedicated adult volunteers, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and members of the senior section along with leaders will travel from as far away as Northumberland and Lincolnshire.
to enjoy a fun-filled weekend of camping and entertainment.
A number of Flamingo themed activities are planned for the weekend and will be led by Girlguiding North East England’s very own Flamingo, Flossie. Over the two days, members from as young as five will have the opportunity to explore the theme park and zoo whilst testing their skills by completing a specially created Flamingo Challenge.
They will take part in Spin, Splash, Speed and Safari activities throughout the weekend and for some lucky members tours of the zoo-park with animal encounters will be amongs the highlights of the weekend.
