SO, as they say these days... the new pumps will move 50 tonnes of water per second into the Ouse from the Foss, just up the road from me, in times of flood (The Press, August 16).
Having skim read three pages in The Press, I’ve searched in vain for confirmation of the planned defences along New Walk that we went to examine, along with the flood gate upgrade.
Why did this article not clearly, if simply, outline the knock-on defences which will be put into place and are needed even more now on the Ouse, especially in the Fishergate and South Bank areas?
If I’ve missed it please let me and the hundreds of other residents near the Ouse know ASAP.
