THE sister of a missing York man is appealing for anyone with information about him to contact the police.

Charles Luck, who lives off Bootham, was last seen by his family on June 12, when he was leaving York railway station for London, intending to travel to France.

The 20-year-old, who is a former pupil at The Minster School and Joseph Rowntree School, was travelling to France to work as a gamekeeper, in the Languedoc region.

His sister India, 18, said: “He was going out there to see how it goes. If it worked, he was planning to stay, if not he was coming back. All the trips he has been on before he has always been in contact with somebody or he would let us know if he had arrived and landed, but this time he didn’t. Anyone who has information or has seen Charles, please get in touch with the police.”

She added: “We heard something about him going in a taxi from Paris when he arrived in France on June 12. We know he hasn’t used his bank card at all apart from that one trip since he has has been there.”

She described Charles as “friendly, caring, quite quiet and really funny.”

“He is really into his extreme sports. He is by no means an introvert,” she said.

Charles is described as white, 6ft 4in tall, of muscular build, with cropped light brown hair, and has a tattoo of a lion and rose on his left shoulder. He was last seen wearing a green waterproof jacket, beige chino trousers, walking boots and carrying a backpack.

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: “He told his family he would be out of contact for eight to nine weeks, due to the area where he was working. They called us again on August 13 to let us know that they had still not heard from him at the end of the nine weeks.”

If anybody has seen or heard from Charles phone police immediately on 101, or email general.enquiries@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
