HORSE owners in North Yorkshire have been urged to remain vigilant.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said a horse owner in the Tadcaster area found a cross marked in mud on the side of one of her horses on the morning of August 3.
As a precaution, the force has urged owners “to keep an extra eye on their horses and properties”.
Anyone with information or who has seen anything suspicious should phone police on 101.
