A TEAM of racers bidding for soapbox success have shown off the vehicle they hope will lead them to glory.
Simon Melton, from Melton Engineering and Team Transplant, tested their four wheeler at the KP Club in Market Weighton ahead of the second Autohorn Micklegate Soapbox Challenge on Monday, August 28.
Mr Melton’s team raised £3,500 for Leeds Renal Transplant Ward last year after they carried out a life saving operation on his wife in 2014.
They have changed their focus for 2017, however, and are now raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
He said: “This year we are raising money for another cause very close to our hearts, The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, a charity totally funded by the generous donations from the people of Yorkshire. If we can match last years total that will cover the cost of one flight.”
