I HAVE to agree with recent criticism in these columns regarding doing away with the ticket office at York station, and staff having to deal with customers on what is going to be a toe-to-toe basis.
Some members of the public will wait until the other person has been attended to before they expect to be served or had their queries seen to.
Others who are in a hurry will push in and what will happen on race days and when the hen and stag parties are departing is anybody’s guess.
By the time staff get to know the different ticket routes and people using them as a tourist information bureau they have had enough and move on to another job.
