STARS of a new television show are filming in York today.
Miranda Richardson, of Blackadder II fame, and Anthony Head, who played Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, are among the stars currently filming in Cosy Club, Fossgate, for an upcoming ITV 1 production.
Girlfriends is the latest Kay Mellor "feelgood drama", set to air next January, and also stars Zoë Wanamaker and Downton Abbey's Phyllis Logan.
Directed by Kay Mellor, and made by Rollem Productions, Girlfriends is a story set mainly in Leeds about three childhood friends - played by Richardson, Wanamaker and Logan, "as they struggle with the responsibilities that come with being a modern woman of a certain age".
Filming is set to continue at the former Macdonalds furniture store throughout the day, with further shoots expected in the city at later dates between now and October.
