AMBITIOUS flower arrangements will go on display today at a North Yorkshire stately home.
The Castle Howard In Bloom Flower Festival runs until Sunday with a new lead designer and team of guest floral designers creating displays in all of the public rooms, including bold and modern designs in the Great Hall and Long Gallery.
Highlights will include a ‘waterfall’ including 3,000 white carnations, gypsophilia and crystals cascading from the balcony in the Great Hall, and suspended hoops, balloons and flowers in the Long Gallery.
The festival will include representatives of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies, guided tours of the home’s gardens and talks by leading flower arrangers and passionate gardeners.
The designer of this year’s Castle Howard in Bloom is Catherine Gledhill.
