WHILE congratulations must go to Rachael Maskell for winning York Central, I must take issue with her for her call for Theresa May to go.

When Theresa May first became leader of the Conservatives everybody in the Labour Party said she must call an election because she didn’t have a mandate. She had never won an election.

As soon as she called an election everybody in the Labour Party criticised her for doing so.

Now that the election is over and the Conservatives have won the most seats and the most votes, everybody in the Labour Party is calling for her to go.

Am I the only person who sees the hypocrisy in this?

The way Labour are talking anybody would think they had just won the election.

The reality is that they are so surprised that they only lost by 50 seats they seem to consider this a victory.

Jeremy Corbyn is a very lucky man. If he had won the election he would have to start adding up the financial cost of all his fiscal promises (including funding heaven knows how many students at £9,000 per head).

Everybody who thought his financial promises through knew they were unachievable.

They sound good and I can understand people voting for them but the reality is they would never have come to fruition had Labour won.

Jeremy Corbyn has got away without being found out.
