TWO cyclists completed a 45-mile ride to mark the 90th anniversary of the National Garden Scheme, a fundraising organisation for various charities.

Ian Savage, from York, is Parkinson’s UK corporate relationship manager, and was accompanied by Peter Wood, were visiting ten of the national scheme’s private gardens in the York and Selby areas.

Over 90 years, the scheme has donated more than £50m to charity, and this year donated £3m with £150,000 going to Parkinson’s UK.

Three gardens in Cawood will be open to the public on July 8 and 9 to raise money for the scheme.

The cyclists Ian Savage and Peter Wood are seen visiting the Cawood garden of David and Judith Jones, who open their garden each year for the scheme.
