A CHARITY for deaf children is launching its new activity space at the weekend.
Lollipop (York & District) is opening the centre, called HQ, in the Minster Building in Lowther Street, York, on Saturday, June 10.
Using a Big Lottery Fund grant, the charity is providing a deaf-friendly activity space which is fully equipped with activities for the children like pool, table tennis and computer games. There is also a café and a parents’ zone.
Launch day will see children aged nine to 13 attend an afternoon activity session where they will be able to meet other deaf and hearing impaired children. For details, go to lollipopyork.org.uk
