A FIRE in a derelict building in a village near York was started deliberately, firefighters believe.
Two crews were called to the fire in Ferry Lane, Bishopthorpe, at about 7.50pm yesterday.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire was a combination of rubbish and wood.
"The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate."
Crews used two hose reels and one main jet to put out the flames.
