A MAN has been charged with assaulting a female police officer at York railway station.
British Transport Police said two men were allegedly acting drunk and disorderly at about 10.45pm on Saturday, and were asked by a British Transport Police officer to leave the station.
One of the men is said to have become aggressive and assaulted the officer, who called for emergency assistance.
The spokesman said the man allegedly resisted arrest, and was detained following use of an incapacitant spray.
A 33-year-old man from Blackpool has been bailed to appear before York Magistrates’ Court next month.
