NORTH Yorkshire County Council is supporting World No Tobacco Day and is highlighting the link between tobacco and poverty across the globe.

World No Tobacco day is on May 31 this year and its theme, ‘Tobacco – A Threat to Development’’, emphasises its impact on development, including heightened health care costs, reduced productivity and higher levels of poverty. Figures from Action on Smoking and Health show that 52,000 households across North Yorkshire could save money by giving up smoking. Access free stop smoking advice and support by phoning 01609 663023.
