A YEAR ago, many officials and supporters of York City must have believed that promotion back to the Football League at the first attempt was most likely.

Looking at the National League North that City will be in next season, there will probably be seven other former Football League clubs in there with them.

While hoping that they bounce straight back, with only two teams promoted it will need a great effort to do this. There should be a couple of tasty local derbies with Harrogate Town.
