THE decision to revoke a taxi driver’s license has been upheld by York Magistrates’ Court.
Selby District Council revoked Michael Shooter, of Tower Taxis, Tadcaster, operator’s licence, for employing an unlicensed Private Hire Taxi Driver and failing to maintain adequate records of bookings in December 2016. Shooter, 47, of Commercial Street, Tadcaster, appealed against the decision at York Magistrates Court, but a hearing on Wednesday upheld the decision, and awarded the council £795 in costs. A spokesman for the council said the authority took the licensing of taxi drivers seriously.
