WALKING into town last Thursday morning via Fishergate and Piccadilly, both my sister and I commented on how dirty the pavements were once you got to the Merchant Adventurers building and into the shopping area.

I would imagine they will be clean now because it has rained.

I am no Francophile, but I remember when on holiday years ago in Tours the pavements were washed down every few days with water tanks early in the morning.

Now that the tourist season is starting again, I am sure the city tourist board don’t want the visitors to go home saying “interesting city, pity about the filthy pavements”.
