WHAT an appropriate celebration indeed of the City of York Litter Festival by M MacKay (Letters, April 17).
It was timed perfectly as I had just drawn my curtains to be greeted by the celebratory confetti in the roadway outside my house post the Bank Holiday recycling that woke me far earlier than normal to add to my inordinate joy.
I enclose a photograph (above).
This event is inserted in a mix and match fashion with the delight we sporadically all feel when we watch our carefully sorted materials all being dumped in a black wheelie bin, and tipped pell mell together into a vehicle, again making sure that confetti is thoughtfully left along our road.
All breeze was absent so extra efforts had to be made to ensure the fair distribution.
