A MOTIVATIONAL company which helps people in care homes has won a national award.
Motivation & Co is based in Church Fenton and won the Care Innovator Award at the Great British Care Awards in March.
The company was founded by Elaine Everett, after her grandfather developed Alzheimer’s Disease. While visiting him in a care home, she felt some residents were whiling away the hours with little in the way of social interaction or stimulation.
Along with specialist advisors in exercise and physiotherapy, relaxation therapy and cognitive mental stimulation therapy, Elaine developed a series of mental stimulation, exercises and games which became Motivation & Co.
The Great British Care Awards are a celebration of excellence across the care sector, and the national winners were presented their awards by Martin Kemp. Elaine said: “It shows that we are the best in our field of expertise and recognises the hard work and the positive impact we bring to the care sector.”
