A CHARITY has received a £1,000 grant from a mobile-phone giant.
Selby District Vision, which helps people with sight problems, was picked by the town’s Vodafone store to get the money through their Community Connection Award. The charity, founded in the 1920s, was set up to help people living with sight loss and the money will help them purchase specialist equipment for the visually impaired. Anne Young is the treasurer at Selby District Vision and entered the charity for the award. She said: “We would like to spend the award money on electrical devices such as phones and tablets, as well as software designed specifically for visually impaired people.”
