ON April 29, 1942, in the early hours of the morning, the Luftwaffe bombed the city of York.
This year is the 75th anniversary of the Baedeker Raid. On Sunday, April 30, David Poole will lead a walk around York Cemetery, where 52 victims of the bombing are buried.
The Friends of York Cemetery are hoping some of the descendants of the people killed in the raid will attend the walk. Meet at the Gatehouse at 2pm.
Walks and events are organised by Friends of York Cemetery, a charity supporting York Cemetery Trust in its management of the cemetery.
Walk leaders are all volunteers.
