NEW figures show EU nurses are leaving the NHS as the Government fails to guarantee their rights.
Some 272 nurses who worked in Yorkshire and the Humber’s major hospitals, including Calderdale and Huddersfield, Mid Yorkshire and Rotherham resigned from nursing in 2016.
The number quitting Yorkshire and the Humber NHS hospitals rose from 47 in 2014 to 272 in 2016, according to an FOI request.
The figures come after separate data from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) shows a 92 per cent fall in the number of new EU nurses registering in UK.
