BURGLARS broke into a shop in York.

North Yorkshire Police said thieves broke into Patisserie Valerie in Feasegate, sometime overnight on Sunday.

Police could not confirm what, if anything, had been stolen, but a spokeswoman said the investigation was ongoing.

She said: “We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“In particular, we are appealing for information about anyone seen in the area carrying any tools or equipment.”

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should phone police on 101, select option two, and ask for Ben Hutchinson.
