ATTRACTIONS in York were among the most visited in the UK, a new poll has shown.
York Minster was the third most visited cathedral in the country - behind Westminster Abbey and Canterbury Cathedral - and its 610,159 visitors meant it was the 60th most visited UK attraction in 2016.
Figures released today by the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA), also showed the National Railway Museum was the 48th highest-ranking UK visitor attraction.
Kathryn Blacker, Chapter Steward at York Minster, said: “We look forward to welcoming many more throughout 2017".
