A NEW petition has been set up calling for more flood defence funding and works in Fulford.
Cllr Keith Aspden set up the petition to protect the A19 in Fulford, which is prone to flooding after heavy rainfall.
The petition calls for the completion of planned flood defence work for the A19, and measures to protect the Fordlands Road area, close to the Germany Beck site, where 650 homes are to be built.
Cllr Aspden said: “This petition will help to send a message that local flood defences need to be at the top of the agenda.
"I am grateful to the over 150 local residents who have already signed the petition and will continue to gather signatures.”
