A NORTH YORKSHIRE family has been given a £1,000 donation to help fund life-changing physiotherapy for their young son.

Five-year old Felix suffers from an undiagnosed neurological condition, meaning he is unable to sit independently, crawl or walk. His condition also means he suffers from a delayed swallow, hypertonia, dystonia, visual impairment, dysarthria and epilepsy.

Felix’s mother, Sarah Williams, said: “I found through some research an incredible rehabilitation clinic in Canada that offers a LIFE programme and intensive physiotherapy.

“The therapy will help Felix learn to use muscles he doesn’t normally use and give him the chance to learn to sit, crawl and walk independently.

“Our dream is for Felix to reach his full potential and having the donation from Persimmon Homes Yorkshire will enable us to be one step closer to reaching that goal. It’s a huge amount of money and we are incredibly grateful.”

Sarah applied for the funding through the Persimmon Community Champions initiative, which a national programme for charities and groups to apply for funding up to £1,000, to match money they have already raised.

Simon Usher, managing director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “We are overjoyed to find such a worthy cause and to support Felix in this way. We wish him the best of luck with his physiotherapy.
