CHILDREN at a York school have got into the spirit of their history lessons by dressing in the style of the era they are studying.
Romans, Vikings, Normans and Tudors all trooped in to St Paul’s Primary School in Holgate as part of a history project based on the local area.
Teacher Martin Thompson, who was Henry VIII for the day in a costume from York theatre Royal, said about the week: “As well as lots of school trips to various places, we’re all visiting Holgate Windmill, we’ve got a historical actor in and a published illustrator later in the week developing character illustrations from the whole history of York.”
