A MALTON dog lover is heading home from Crufts with a prestigious prize, after her dog Luks triumphed in the country’s top dog show.

It proved to be a day to remember for a Lesley Naylor, after her four-year-old Polish Lowland Sheepdog Luks was named Best in Breed at Crufts 2017.

And after enjoying their own moment in the spotlight, Vale of Pickering Dog Training Club member Lesley could not be more delighted with Luks’ performance in the West Midlands.

“It feels wonderful – and a relief,” said the 55-year-old.

“There’s been a lot of preparation with a coated breed and keeping them fit.

“We live on a farm so keeping him clean when is not easy. Luks is a really fun dog. He’s laid-back, he loves everybody, he can work obedience and he’s just a fun dog.”

Presented by the Kennel Club, this year’s Crufts marked the 126th edition of the show. It attracts dogs and owners from all over the world as well as thousands of visitors over the course of the four days.
