THE family of missing man Rory Johnson-Hatfield are filming their own reconstruction of his last known movements in York before he disappeared.

They are desperately hoping their video will jog someone’s memory and solve the mystery of what happened to Rory on November 20, 2015.

Rory, 29, from Skipton, was last seen in the early hours on CCTV around Tower Street, Skeldergate Bridge and City Mills, after spending a night out in the city centre.

North Yorkshire Police said last year the force had conducted a full and extensive investigation into Rory’s disappearance, which led it to conclude he entered the water around the City Mills area.

His mother Liz Johnson said she would never give up looking. “Until I find him, I will never stop looking for him. It’s so important to me to find where Rory is and just bring him home.

“Hopefully this film will spark off someone’s memory and think: ‘Yes, I was in York; yes I did see Rory’.”

She said that while it was dark when Rory went missing, the film would be shot in daylight so people would understand exactly where he was that evening.

The reconstruction, filmed by Jonathan Malory, from Skyfilming in York, started at York Railway Station, where Rory arrived in the city.

His mother had only just learnt that he spent half an hour at the station, and she was concerned why he was there for that and what he was doing. They were also going to film at a restaurant Rory’s father used to own, Sam Houstons, which Rory went to, and at the Travelodge, in Piccadilly, where he dropped off a bag. He also went to the Christmas market, and they planned to film where that was held.

“I think there’s a member of the public out there that has seen Rory that evening but is probably still not aware they have seen him, because not one person has as yet come forward and said they saw him,” she added.
