A RELATIVE of the man behind Dracula is returning to Whitby.

Dacre Stoker, great grand nephew of the author Bram Stoker, is visiting North Yorkshire this April from South Carolina to present Stoker on Stoker.

Stoker on Stoker is Dacre’s new book due to come out in August, and his visit to Whitby this year will see him present his multimedia presentation on Bram and how it was to grow up in Dublin.

Mr Stoker will also touch upon Bram Stoker fleeing to London to work for Sir Henry Irving, his writing of Dracula, and eventually his death.

He said: “By analysing Bram’s writing notes, his recently published Lost Journal, the Dracula manuscript, and the books listed in his source references, together with Stoker family stories, my multi media presentation will focus on six of the mysteries hidden within the pages of Dracula. Members of the Whitby Amateur Dramatics Society will present dramatic readings to help bring Bram’s background research and pages of Dracula to life.”

Dacre Stoker is the co-author of Dracula the Un-Dead, the official Stoker family endorsed

sequel to Dracula. He is also the co-editor of The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker: The Dublin Years.

Presentations take place at the Met Ballroom on April 22 and 23 from 1pm to 2.30pm and from 4pm to 5.30pm.
