A TEENAGER was pulled from his scooter, assaulted and robbed in a North Yorkshire town.

North Yorkshire Police have just released details of the incident, which took place on Wednesday, February 1, between 7.15pm and 7.35pm in Manham Hill, Eastfield, Scarborough.

A police spokeswoman said the 16-year-old boy was riding his moped in the direction of Cayton Low Road, when he pulled into a car park near the Musham Bank roundabout on the right hand side of the road, close to some flats.

The spokeswoman said the victim was then pulled from his moped and assaulted by an unknown man who was wearing dark clothing. The man continued to assault the boy and then went on to steal the outer and inner layer of the boys jacket.

Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact them. Anyone with information call 101.
