A PUB in York has closed suddenly.
The Mitre in Shipton Road was the first pub in York to be declared an asset of community value (ACV), in 2014, but is currently closed.
A spokesman for Ei Publican Partnerships, the new name for Enterprise Inns, said: “We are currently seeking a new publican to take over The Mitre and would like to reassure members of the local community that we aim to have the pub back open and trading as soon as possible.
"Anyone interested in finding out more about this great business opportunity should contact our recruitment team on 0800 953 0072 for more details.”
The pub's ACV status means locals will be given the chance to bid for the pub, to keep it open, if it is put on the market.
