A FAMILY play barn in Pocklington is up for an East Riding tourism award in 2017.
Smile Cafe and Play Barn at The Mile Farm Shop is a finalist for the brand new Remarkable Family Experience award in the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards. Organisers say the number of entries of this year’s awards has broken all records.
Coordinator Paul Vinsen said: “The number of entries submitted and the quality of them was truly remarkable.”
The standard of entries is increasing, he said, and for 2017 they have split the tourism event award, creating separate categories for events attracting under or over 30,000 visitors. They have also launched the “family friendly” category, and another specially for arts and culture. An awards ceremony will take place at The Spa, Bridlington on March 30, and other businesses nominated include Wolds Edge Holiday Lodges in Bishop Wilton, and Tibthorpe’s Yorkshire Wagyu Company.
