A MAN is in hospital after a serious assault in York.
He suffered a head injury in the attack, which happened at about 8.50pm on Friday in Landalewood Road in Clifton Moor.
A police cordon was set up while forensics officers investigated. The victim was taken to York Hospital.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Officers are urgently appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information about it, to get in touch.
"In particular, they would like to speak to anyone who saw mopeds being ridden in the area around the time of the assault."
Anyone with information is asked to phone 101, and to refer to incident 486 of February 3.
