RUNNERS have the chance to meet four-legged ears as well as run in the Great North Run if they sign up with a charity.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is calling for volunteers to join its team in the September run.
Team members will be given a behind-the-scenes tour of the charity’s training centre in Bielby in East Yorkshire where dogs are trained to act as ears for deaf people. Anyone interested should contact East Yorkshire based community fundraising manager Eileen Botterill on 01759 322255 or eileen.botterill@hearingdogs.org.uk
