FOUR estate agents in York deserve praise for leading by example and removing letting boards from their properties.
The businesses concerned – Adam Bennett, IG Properties, Access Properties York, and Sinclair Properties – were responding to an appeal by Hull Road councillors, who in turn were acting on concerns of residents. Locals felt the multitude of ‘For let’ signs in their neighbourhoods was a blight on the area and also advertised properties as being potentially empty.
The councillors – David Levene, Hilary Shepherd and Neil Barnes – are now calling on all letting agencies in York to do likewise. We hope they follow suit.
