A 13-year-old boy was caught behind the wheel of his parents’ car.
North Yorkshire Police were contacted at 7.45pm on Tuesday to reports of a black Mercedes E Class which had been “taken without authority and driven otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without the relevant insurance”.
Officers found the vehicle at 11.10pm, stationary, in St Oswalds Road, Fulford.
A spokeswoman said: "The boy was interviewed under caution, with a parent present and has been reported to court for the offences of taking a vehicle without consent, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without the relevant insurance.
