POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in East Yorkshire.
Emergency services were called to the collision on the A1079 at Shiptonthorpe at about 10.45am on Tuesday.
Humberside Police said five vehicles, not four as it originally thought, were involved in the crash.
They were a blue Renault Clio, a white Mini, a blue Mitsubishi, a silver Mazda and a green Vauxhall Corsa.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A woman suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. Others suffered from shock."
A temporary road closure was put in place to allow three vehicles to be recovered and for paramedics to treat the injured people. The road was re-opened at 12.30pm.
Anyone who witnessed the crash should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting log 187 of 27/12/2016.
