SERVICES at York's St Leonard's Hospice have been rated as 'outstanding' by the health regulator Care Quality Commission.
The purpose of the recent two-day inspection was to ensure services were safe, caring, effective, responsive and well-led.
The inspection team praised the hospice, in Tadcaster Road, for the "high quality care and support consistently provided."
They applauded the "extremely clean and tidy premises", "the beautiful environment" and the "quality of meals and presentation". Patients, carers and service users were given the opportunity to speak with the inspectors and told them "the staff were caring and went the extra mile."
