A HARROGATE-based beer seller has moved to new premises near Wetherby, creating 30 new jobs.

Online retailer Beer Hawk has moved into a new 12000 sq. ft warehouse at Thorp Arch, which has ten times more storage space than its original home, to cope with its growing business.

Mark Roberts co-founded the company in 2012 with Chris France.

He said: “We have been aware for some time that our business ambitions and customer demands were always going to outstrip the facility in Harrogate that is currently Beer Hawk’s home. Overnight, this move to new warehousing will give us the capability to increase our output approximately five-fold."

The company is the UK's biggest online craft beer retailer, and sells beer from 25 different companies offering a trade service to independent outlets as well as its online shop for beer-lovers.

The Wetherby move will see the creation of up to 30 new jobs, and will give it the capacity to significantly increase the range of premium craft beers to more than 1,000 varieties.
