Car destroyed in A64 fire

EMERGENCY services were called to a car fire on the A64 near York on Saturday.

Two North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue crews were called to the Grimston Bar slip road at just before 2pm.

A spokeswoman said: "On arrival crews confirmed that a TVR was well alight. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and one breathing apparatus."

The car was destroyed by the fire, but nobody was injured.
